European Beach Tour: Masters Finals 2007 - INFORMAÇÕES

As the summer is almost here, the Beach Handball season is about to throw off. The Executive Committee of the EHF awarded the organisational rights of the EBT MASTERS 2008 tournament to the Royal Spanish Handball Federation.
EBT Masters 2007 will be the final act of the 2007 Beach Handball season. Last year the number of tournaments, Beach Handball clubs and players has seen significant
increase respect to a year earlier. A total of 117 clubs from 13 nations took part at 56 tournaments as part of the EBT 2007.
Now is the time to know the winner of the last Beach Handball season.
Valencia downtown was chosen as venue of this spectacular event; a splendid and
unique area surrounded by architectural beauties.
The EBT will be played on 7-8 June 2008. Eight men’s and eight women’s teams will take part in this MASTERS.
The teams were selected based on the ranking, regulations and procedures of the
European beach tournaments (EBT) held in 2007 (see the preliminary
participation list in table 1).
The two current champions, Balonmano Playa Barbate (ESP/men) and Flying Cangaroos (GER/women) will get a chance to defend their titles.
INFORMATION FOR THE TEAMS
The arrival of the teams is scheduled on 5 June. The departure date of all teams,
referees and EHF officials is 9 June.
The Organising Committee will offer different types of accommodation for the
participating teams within walking distances from the venue. There will be different
food offers (bb, ½ board and full board).
Two playing courts will be set up, plus an additional for training purposes. The main
court has a capacity of 1,000 spectators. The venue has all facilities, such as
showers, toilet, bar etc…
The EHF and the Local Organising Committee have taken initiatives in connection
with the main philosophy of Beach Handball, i.e. FAIR PLAY and FUN.
The nearest airport is Valencia (Spain), 10 kms away from the city.
The EBT will be played according to the Beach Handball “Rules of the Game 2002”, issued by the IHF.
The playing system will consist of a preliminary round – all teams compete against
each other (round robin system) – and placements matches.
